Guwahati City FC (GCFC) is all set to make history as the first-ever Assamese club to compete in the AIFF Futsal Club Championship. The team officially unveiled their jersey and squad today at a ceremony held at the Landmark Hotel in Guwahati on Monday.
GCFC kicks off their debut campaign on June 23rd in Vadodara, Gujarat. This journey is made possible with the backing of Uttarayan Group, a prominent real estate developer in the Northeast.
Head Coach Koncho Tashi leads the GCFC Futsal team, which was formally introduced alongside their new jersey. Their opening match is against Ambelim Sports Club (Goa) on June 23rd at the Swarnim Gujarat Sports University Indoor Stadium (5 PM).
GCFC’s participation marks a significant milestone for futsal in Assam. The Assam Football Association (AFA) commended their efforts and pledged to continue supporting the development of the sport in the state.
