Kohima: Assam Rifles’ Drone Training Node under Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), Jalukie, and the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Nagaland have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for collaboration in capacity building, training, research and technology development, particularly in emerging technologies for academic and field applications.
The partnership will focus on joint basic and advanced training programmes, practical flight operations, maintenance procedures, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)-aligned certifications and periodic drone boot camps.
Under the agreement, both institutions will also facilitate field exposure, shared use of infrastructure, research validation and joint innovation initiatives.
Dear Reader,
Every day, our team at EastMojo travels through rain, rough roads, and remote hills to bring you stories that matter – stories from your town, your people, your Northeast.
We do this because we believe in truthful, independent journalism. No big corporate backing, no government pressure – just honest reporting by local journalists who live and breathe the same air you do.
But to keep doing this work, we need you. Your small contribution helps us pay our reporters fairly, reach places others ignore, and keep asking the tough questions.
If you believe the Northeast deserves its own fearless voice, stand with us.
Support independent journalism. Be a Member.
Thank you,
Karma Paljor

A Joint Steering Committee will be constituted to coordinate the collaboration, including scheduling, resource allocation and curriculum planning.
The partnership seeks to strengthen cooperation between security forces and academia in drone technology and related fields, with potential applications in border security, defence innovation and technological development in the region.
