Shillong: A 70-year-old COVID-19 patient was brought dead to the Shillong Civil Hospital at 3:30 pm on Wednesday.
According to Director of Health Services Dr Aman Warr, the patient has been identified as Rajendra Shah.
Shah, a resident of 29 Cantonment, Shillong, was under home quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19 with no symptoms.
Dr Warr informed that Shah was a mentally challenged person and had collapsed in the bathroom. The Civil Hospital administration declared him as brought dead.

He also informed that the officials will take a call on Thursday whether to add Shah’s death under COVID-19.
Dr Warr emphasised the reason this death can’t be added as a COVID related death due to the circumstances under which he died. The patient was a positive case but did not die due to COVID-19, Warr added.
