Renowned fashion designer and handloom entrepreneur from Northeast India, Robert Naorem, continues to champion the region’s rich textile heritage on the global stage.

Recently, celebrated Manipuri designer Robert Naorem showcased his latest collection, “Art of East India”, at an exclusive international fashion show held at Melia La Défense in Paris during Paris Fashion Week.

Organised by PP Production House, the Global Fashion Week featured 25 designers from around the world, with Robert Naorem representing India.

His latest collection is a tribute to the cultural, artistic, and craft brilliance and uniqueness of his home state, Manipur. At the heart of this collection is his vision for reviving handloom and promoting sustainable fashion. The collection highlights the versatility of Manipur’s woven silks, enhanced with intricate hand embroidery, designed to appeal to the international market.

Designer Naorem stated that the collection seamlessly blends tradition with contemporary aesthetics, featuring original traditional attire alongside western silhouettes, all crafted from the exquisite weaves of Manipur in an elegant color palette of red, cream, and ivory.

The participation of Robert Naorem in this prestigious event serves as a beacon of hope and resilience, bringing much-needed visibility to Manipur’s textile and handloom sector on the global fashion map.
