The Rengma Selo Zi (RSZ) has expressed gratitude to law enforcement agencies and the district administration for their prompt action in addressing the harassment and assault of three youths on 16 December 2024 in Dimapur. In a press statement dated 23 December, the organisation acknowledged the authorities’ efforts in apprehending the perpetrators, describing the response as a step towards restoring justice and security within the community.
The RSZ emphasised that incidents threatening societal peace and harmony require firm action. The organisation also commended civil society groups and individuals for their solidarity during this challenging period, highlighting the importance of unity within the Naga community.
In its statement, the RSZ reiterated its opposition to any form of harassment or violence against innocent individuals. It issued a stern warning that similar incidents in the future would be met with resolute action. The safety and dignity of the Naga community, the RSZ stated, remain a top priority.

The RSZ also demanded that the NSCN (Akato) group immediately remove the seven individuals implicated in the assault case from its ranks. The organisation asserted that such actions are incompatible with the values and aspirations of the Naga people.
The RSZ urged the public to remain vigilant and to report any activities that could threaten peace and security. It reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding its members and ensuring that no individual or group disrupts societal harmony.
