Kangana Ranaut slams Maha govt for arresting Arnab Goswami

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut has reacted to the arrest of Republic TV’s Editor-in-chief in connection to abetment to suicide case on Wednesday.

Reacting to the incident, Kangana took to the social media site Twitter, where she shared a video saying many ‘free speech greats’ have been hanged in the past for raising their voices.

In the video, Kangana was seen in her car saying, “I want to ask the Maharashtra government that today, you went inside Arnab Goswami’s house, beat him, pulled him by his hair, assaulted him. How many houses will you break? How many throats will you choke, how many people’s hair will your pull and how many voices will you silence? Sonia Sena, how many mouths will you gag? These voices will keep growing. Before us, so many martyrs’ throats were slit, they were hanged for their right to free speech. No matter, you will silence, many others will rise,”.

In another tweet earlier in the morning, Kangana wrote reacting to Republic TV’s post, “Pappupro ko gussa kyun aata hai? Penguins ko gussa kyun aata hai? Sonia sena ko itna gussa kyun aata hai?Arnab sir let them pull your hair and assault you for the cause of free speech greats before us got hanged with smiles on their faces, Aazadi ka karz chukana hai #ArnabGoswami”

The Mumbai Police on Wednesday morning arrested Republic TV’s Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami in alleged connection with an old abetment to suicide case.

It is alleged that Goswami had abetted the suicide of a 53-year-old interior designer. According to officials of Mumbai Police, an architect and his mother committed suicide in Alibaug over alleged non-payment of dues by the channel Republic TV in 2018.
