Tura: The AHAM(Achik Holistic Awakening Movement ), South Western Zone, Ampati along with police and other concerned authorities on Wednesday conducted a joint inspection against illegal settlers at Takuranbari and Ishakuri areas of Ampati in South West Garo Hills.
The joint inspection witnessed the active participation of key officials, including the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Betasing Block BDO, Deputy Superintendent of Police, A’king Nokma, and representatives from local groups such as ASPF(Achik State Peoples Front), FAF, and CSAWO, along with villagers.
The inspection revealed the presence of several non-tribal individuals engaged in illegal settlement activities, attempting to exploit the benefits offered by the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).
In response to these findings, the concerned authorities are taking necessary actions to address the issue of illegal encroachment in the region.
