Imphal: A displaced person was reportedly shot by unidentified armed miscreants, sustaining serious bullet injuries at Thanga in Bishnupur district, Manipur, on Wednesday.
According to sources, the victim, identified as Sawaijam Dhanabir Meetei, 28, son of S Rajen of Churachandpur Yaifakol, was hit by four bullets.
He was subsequently rushed to a private hospital for medical treatment.
Dhanabir is a resident of the relief camp established at Thanga Wangma High School, Thanga Moirangthem Leikai.

The incident occurred in front of the relief camp, where the miscreants arrived in a vehicle and opened fire at the victim, who was also in another car. The assailants fled the scene after firing multiple rounds.
A case has been registered at Keibul Lamjao police station for further investigation.
