Guwahati: The Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF) in Manipur has announced a one-year anniversary shutdown for the Kuki-Zo community on May 3, 2024, to commemorate the victims of ethnic cleansing.
In a bid to show respect and solidarity, the forum is urging all members of the Kuki-Zo community to hoist a black flag on every household, while all business establishments, institutions, and markets are requested to remain closed.

The shutdown will begin in the early hours of the morning and will continue throughout the day, the ITLF said in a news release.
“Let us come together as one community to reflect on our journey, reaffirm our oneness, and strengthen our resolve towards a brighter future for the Kuki-Zo people,” the ITLF said.
