Guwahati: One person received injuries after a bullet-like object struck the window of a moving bus in Dhubri, Assam.
The bullet-like object, purportedly, pierced through the glass shield fixed on the window leaving the passenger sitting on the window seat injured.
Suspense deepened further after the authorities failed to trace the bullet despite a thorough search. Neither could they track the point from where the bullet was fired.
The bus, traveling from Tulsibeel in Kokrajhar district to Dhubri, was on National Highway 17 between Panbari and Suparighat when the incident occurred.
Sources said the injured passenger might have inadvertently caught into the bullet and its target.
Authorities are currently grappling with the mystery surrounding the origin of the gunfire.
The nearby BSF campus has denied any mock drill being conducted at the time of the incident.
As the police dive into the investigation, the locals are eagerly awaiting answers.
