Pakistan may consider pulling out of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy if its hosting rights are revoked due to India’s refusal to travel to the country, according to a report by Dawn. Citing ‘official sources,’ the report suggests that the Pakistan government might instruct the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to avoid playing against India in ICC or Asian Cricket Council events until the nations resolve their ongoing issues.
In a related report, the Press Trust of India (PTI) noted that the PCB plans to seek clarification from the ICC regarding the Champions Trophy hosting situation. So far, the ICC has informed the PCB that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will not send its team to Pakistan. However, no official proposal has been made for a hybrid model, which would allow matches to be hosted in multiple countries.
The idea of a hybrid model was previously implemented during the Asia Cup, where India’s matches took place in Sri Lanka while other games remained in Pakistan. However, a reliable source within the PCB indicated that no discussions have been held about employing a similar setup for the Champions Trophy.

At present, the PCB is examining the situation and has not yet determined its next steps. The source also mentioned that the PCB is in regular contact with the government, seeking advice on further actions as necessary.
