AIZAWL: Mizoram Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (MPYCC) president Ngurdingpuia Pachuau has claimed that public demand for the Congress is growing across India, asserting that the party is prepared to take on greater responsibility in serving the people.
Speaking at an all-India Congress youth meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday, Pachuau said the party was ready to respond to rising public expectations.
He said the MPYCC had drawn up plans to create more employment opportunities for young people in Mizoram. He added that a Congress government would work towards ensuring greater security and stability for both younger and older generations.
Addressing youth representatives from different states, Pachuau highlighted India’s cultural, linguistic and social diversity, describing the gathering as an opportunity for young people to exchange ideas and discuss their aspirations.
He urged the representatives to become agents of positive change and remain committed to public welfare.
Criticising the BJP and its allies, Pachuau alleged that they had misled the public and eroded people’s trust. He said the country needed courageous young leaders committed to protecting citizens’ dignity and rights.
As part of the programme, the Congress youth delegation visited the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area in Uttar Pradesh, where Jaypee Infratech Limited has been entrusted with responsibilities for a 36-year period.
The delegation also visited Parliament House and studied the FLO Job Fair, organised annually by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in collaboration with Delhi University, which brings together more than 100 companies.
Other visits included District Skill Centres in Karol Bagh and Shahdara, where the representatives examined initiatives related to skill development and employment generation.
