The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) marked ‘National Energy Conservation Day’ with a series of activities conducted during a week-long programme that began on 8th December and concluded on 14th December 2024. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the significance of energy conservation and promote efficient energy use.
A large number of officers and staff actively participated in the Energy Conservation Week by engaging in various events across N.F. Railway zones. Awareness sessions on the urgency of energy conservation were conducted at numerous field units.
Throughout the week, activities including leaflet distribution, art and quiz competitions, poster and banner displays, street plays (Nukkad Natak), and slogan campaigns were organised. These efforts were intended to educate both railway employees and the public about the importance of saving energy.
On 13th December, a Nukkad Natak was performed near the N.F. Railway Headquarters complex in Maligaon. The event, attended by railway officials and the general public, highlighted simple yet impactful energy-saving practices.

N.F. Railway General Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava engaged in discussions with railway officials and staff, emphasising the adoption of energy conservation practices within the organisation.
In addition to these activities, awareness walks featuring banners and slogans against energy wastage were held at various locations. Posters with energy-saving tips were prominently displayed at railway premises, while leaflets were distributed among staff and the public to reinforce the message.
