A tragic incident unfolded in Harda, Madhya Pradesh, on Thursday, as a fire broke out inside a firecracker factory, resulting in the unfortunate loss of six lives and leaving over 60 others injured. The intensity of the fire triggered a series of explosions, causing widespread panic in the nearby areas.
According to an official statement, the injured individuals have been rushed to the hospital, with several in critical condition. The impact of the blasts was so significant that even residents in the neighbouring Seoni Malwa area of Narmadapuram district reported feeling tremors.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh has been actively involved in the situation, seeking updates from officials and dispatching Minister Uday Pratap Singh and other senior officials to the site. In a post on social media, the Chief Minister also requested medical colleges in Bhopal and Indore to prepare for patients with burn injuries. Additional fire engines are being rushed to the location to aid in the firefighting efforts.
A video capturing the incident shows towering flames and thick smoke billowing out of the factory. In the adjacent road, people can be seen fleeing in fear as the deafening sound of explosions reverberates through the air.

Firefighting teams have now arrived at the scene, working tirelessly to bring the flames under control. District Collector Rishi Garg has confirmed that the rescue operation is ongoing, and the National Disaster Response Force has also been called in to assist.
A factory worker who managed to escape after the fire broke out revealed that approximately 150 workers were present on the premises at the time of the incident.
