Aizawl: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Sub-Inspector deployed on security duty at Mizoram’s Lok Bhavan in Aizawl allegedly died by suicide after shooting himself with his service AK-47 rifle on Thursday.
The incident reportedly occurred at around 10:30 am near the northern gate of Lok Bhavan, the Governor’s official residence, where the officer was posted.
The deceased, reportedly a native of Haryana, is suspected to have shot himself in the jaw with his service weapon.
The reason behind the incident remains unknown. At the time of filing this report, the body was undergoing examination.
