The releases were part of a larger NEC disbursement of ₹76.78 crore across the North Eastern states and regional agencies.
Additional region-wide support, amounting to ₹26.47 crore, funded projects such as kiwi orchards, banana tissue culture facilities, pig breeding units, and multi-agriculture initiatives including fisheries and piggery. Non-project activities included youth cultural exchanges, state-level festivals, academic workshops, and studies on sustainable development.
The programmes aimed to promote livelihood opportunities, preserve cultural heritage, and strengthen technological and scientific capacities in the region. Key implementing institutions included Mizoram University and other regional development agencies.
