Aizawl: IndiGo Airline is set to double the number of flights between Delhi and Aizawl, introducing a new service that will significantly enhance connectivity between the two cities. This comes as a result of continued efforts by Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma, with the collaboration of the General Administration Department (GAD) Civil Aviation Wing and the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
Starting from October 5, 2024, IndiGo will increase the frequency of its Delhi-Aizawl and Aizawl-Delhi flights, which are currently operating five times a week, to ten flights weekly. The new schedule will include daily flights between Delhi and Aizawl, except on Sundays, improving travel options for passengers traveling between the capital and the northeastern state.
This expansion is expected to be a significant boost for both tourism and business in Mizoram. Additionally, it will greatly benefit patients traveling for medical treatment. Many patients from Mizoram travel to Delhi for specialised healthcare, and the increased flight frequency will provide more convenient and timely options for their travel needs.
