Shillong: Amid criticism surrounding the Rs 1 crore cash seizure in Arunachal Pradesh, Prestone Tynsong, the National People’s Party (NPP) Meghalaya president, dismissed the allegations, attributing them to political motives aimed at garnering votes.
Tynsong asserted that it had been clearly stated that neither the vehicle nor the person involved had any connection to Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma.
“Making such allegations during election, they convert it to their vote bank by accusing Conrad Sangma of looting Meghalaya and investing in Arunachal Pradesh, which is wrong. I would like to inform citizens it never happened and won’t allow it to happen,” reassured Tynsong.

He elaborated that if a similar incident were to occur involving a person found with a substantial amount of money, there would likely be attempts to link it to a political party.
“I think it is unending, so my clarification is very clear I would like to say that this seizure made by officials of Election Commission does not belong to the Meghalaya Chief Minister and also the national president of NPP,” clarified the NPP state president.
