Imphal: Manipur on Sunday reported 669 new COVID-19 cases, including six security personnel, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 67,986.
The state also recorded 16 fresh fatalities, pushing the death toll in the state to 1,124.
The new COVID-19 cases were detected at RIMS (16), JNIMS (20), distirct hospitals (448) and other testing centres (185).
At present, the number of active cases is 5,824, of which 2,409 persons are in home isolation.
Of the 16 new deaths, five were reported from Churachandpur, four each from Imphal East and Imphal West, two from Thoubal and one from Bishnupur district.

Of the 669 new COVID-19 cases, 227 were reported from Imphal West, 93 from Imphal East, 81 from Kakching, 75 from Bishnupur, 71 from Churachandpur, 69 from Thoubal, 20 from Kangpokpi, 12 from Tamenglong, seven from Chandel, five from Ukhrul, four each from Tengnoupal and Kamjong, and one from Pherzawl.
On Sunday, 509 more COVID-9 patients were discharged, of which 186 were at home isolation, 16 at RIMS, 16 at COVID-19 care centres and the remaining 199 at community health isolation centres (CHICs).
With this, the recovery rate in the state now stands at 89.78%.
