COVID-19: Manipur reports 582 new COVID-19 cases, 23 deaths

Imphal: Manipur on Wednesday reported 582 new COVID-19 cases, including 12 personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), reports said.

With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state has now touched 41,265.

Also, 23 more persons succumbed to the coronavirus in the last 24 hours. With this, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 in the state has touched 635.

As many as 6,817 cases are now active, of which 6,668 are from the general population and 149 from CAPF.

The new positive cases include 278 from Imphal West, 144 from Imphal East, 51 from Churachandpur, 26 from Bishnupur, 20 from Kakching, 19 from Thoubal, 11 each from Chandel and Ukhrul, seven each from Senapati and Tengnouplal, five from Kangpokpi, two from Tamenglong and one from Pherzawl district.

Also, of the 23 new deaths, six each are from Imphal East and Bishnupur, five from Imphal West, two each from Kakching and Thoubal and one each from Ukhrul and Churachandpur.
