Agartala: Heavyweight BJP candidate for the West Tripura parliamentary constituency and former CM Biplab Kumar Deb filed his nomination papers for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls on Wednesday followed by a grand political rally here in Agartala.
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Chief Minister of Haryana Nayab Singh Saini, Former CM of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar, BJP Tripura Pradesh President Rajib Bhattacharjee, BJP ally Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarman were among the senior leaders who attended the rally and nomination submission event.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has established the rule of Lord Ram in the country and hence he is set for a landslide victory in the ensuing elections.
“PM Modi has set a target of 370 seats for the BJP alone. But my hunch is that our party is all set to break all previous records. I am very happy to witness party flags of BJP and Tipra Motha being waved altogether in this rally. This symbolizes the support of people to our party from all walks of life,” he added.
Dr. Saha also urged the party workers to visit every household and drop PM Modi’s message. “Knock every door. Tell them you are the man of Modi and he has sent out the message that he needs their blessings in the forthcoming elections,” said Dr. Saha.
Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarman, who was also present at the rally, said that the BJP had fielded his brother and sister from two constituencies in Tripura.
“From East Tripura, my brother is contesting the elections who had always worked for the Janajati people of Tripura. From East Tripura, my sister is contesting the elections. In the Centre PM Modi is coming, there is no doubt about that and in Tripura Tipra Motha, BJP, and IPFT coalition will usher in a new dawn for the people of Tripura,” added Debbarman.
Chief Minister of Haryana Nayab Singh Saini exuded confidence that BJP would certainly cross the 400 seats mark.
Meanwhile, INDIA bloc-supported Congress candidate from West Tripura, Ashish Kumar Saha, also filed his nomination papers. Former JNU students’ union president and Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar was supposed to join the nomination rally, but he reportedly skipped the rally for other engagements.
Hundreds of CPIM and Congress activists joined the party rally.
