Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Thursday visited the residence of late Chongtham Vikram Singh at Thangmeiband Lourung Purel Leikai in Imphal West and met his bereaved family.
Speaking to the family members, the chief minister assured them that justice would be delivered and those responsible for the crime would be brought to justice.
Khemchand Singh expressed profound sorrow over the incident, which claimed the life of an innocent person.
The chief minister met the deceased’s parents, wife and son and assured the family of all possible assistance and support.
“Visited the residence of late Shri Chongtham Vikram Singh at Thangmeiband Lourung Purel Leikai, Imphal, who tragically passed away in New Delhi. I shared the grief and pain with the bereaved family members and conveyed my deepest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of the deceased and prayed for strength to bear this irreparable loss,” Khemchand Singh said in a Facebook post.

“I assured the family that the Government stands firmly with them and will ensure that justice is delivered at the earliest,” he added.
Chongtham Vikram Singh, a musician and music teacher from Manipur, died following an assault at his residence in Kilokri, New Delhi. He is survived by his wife and son.
During the visit, Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency MLA Khumukcham Joykisan Singh was also present.
