Hyderabad, India – NorthEast United FC came from two goals down to defeat Hyderabad FC 5-2 at the GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium in the Indian Super League (ISL) on Monday, December 23, 2024. The win snapped NorthEast United’s two-game losing streak and moved them up to sixth in the points table.
Hyderabad FC, who had only conceded six goals after the 60th minute mark all season prior to the match, saw their defensive record crumble as NorthEast United FC scored three times in the final 30 minutes. This loss marks Hyderabad FC’s first defeat against NorthEast United FC in nine games.
Edmilson Correia scored for Hyderabad FC in the 5th and 12th minutes. However, NorthEast United FC fought back with goals from Guillermo Fernández (18′), Lenny Rodrigues (54′ OG), Alaaeddine Ajaraie (73′), and Alex Saji (78′ OG).
Hyderabad FC will look to bounce back against East Bengal FC on December 28, while NorthEast United FC will face Mumbai City FC on December 30.
