Gangtok: Aspiring doctors who have qualified for NEET-UG 2026 now have an opportunity to apply for five MBBS Society Seats at Helen Lepcha Sikkim Government Medical College (HLSGMC), Gangtok, for the 2026–27 academic session.
The Government of Sikkim has invited applications from eligible NEET-UG 2026 qualified candidates for admission to the five available Society Seats in the MBBS programme.
The online application process began on September 23, 2026, giving eligible candidates a limited window to apply. The last date for submission is September 30, 2026, at 12 noon.
Helen Lepcha Sikkim Government Medical College is the first Government Medical College in the State of Sikkim. Joint initiative of the Government of India and the Government of Sikkim, the institution is established with the vision of expanding access to affordable, high-quality medical education and strengthening healthcare services in the region.
The College is named in honour of Helen Lepcha fondly remembered as Savitri Devi, the renowned Freedom Fighter born in 1902 in Sangmoo, South Sikkim.
The institution proudly carries forward her legacy of service, compassion, and commitment to the welfare of society.
With just five seats available, NEET-UG qualified candidates interested in pursuing an MBBS programme are encouraged to complete the online application within the stipulated deadline.
