Dimapur: The Yimkhiung Youth Organisation (YYO) conducted a two-day inspection of all government offices in Pungro Town, Kiphire District, on June 12 and 13, 2025, to evaluate performance, identify operational issues, and understand challenges faced by departments.
According to the YYO, the inspection facilitated constructive interactions with officials and staff, encouraging open dialogue on public service delivery. However, the organisation expressed concern over several offices that were found locked and non-functional during official working hours.
“The inspection also revealed several operational shortcomings that require immediate attention and to our surprise, many government offices were locked and found unfunctional for a long time,” it stated.
The YYO noted that some departments had remained inactive for extended periods, raising questions about efficiency and accountability in public administration.
The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to improving service delivery and governance in the region. “Our goal is to ensure efficient functioning and accountability and best services for our people,” the organisation stated, adding it will explore every possible avenue to resolve the issues faced by the offices.
The YYO has issued a directive to the concerned offices to address the observed shortcomings and warned that irregular and non-performing departments will face stern action if improvements are not made.
The organisation also urged all government officials and employees posted in Yimkhiung areas to remain committed, accountable, and sincere in the discharge of their duties.
Reiterating its support to the administration, the YYO stated that it would continue working to resolve institutional challenges and strengthen public service mechanisms for the welfare of the community.
