Guwahati: The video of COVID-19 positive patients having fun time with some of COVID warriors inside the Khanapara Covid Care Centre here has gone viral in the social media.
In a Twitter message, posted by Assam minister for health and family welfare Himanta Biswa Sarma, it was seen that the patients were dancing to the tune of Bihu with PPE-clad medical professionals inside Khanapara Covid Care Centre. Taking a jibe at media reports, the minister wrote, “Contrary to the few media reports and gossip, our COVID care centers are full of life, Joy and entertainment.”

In anther Twitter message, the minister said that a total of 1,248 patients have been discharged taking the total number of cured patients to 29,080 till Thursday night.
He also said that in the last 24 hours, a total of 41,000 COVID-19 tests have been carried out all through the state.
He even shared some adorable pictures of young COVID-19 patients who came out healthy after being COVID-19 positive. The minister also seems active in sharing the test results of a few who tagged him on his twitter handle.

Meanwhile, the minister also spoke on the controversies relating to the provision of providing radio for corona patients.
The minister also issued an open challenge to the media houses to conduct a TV show where he can dispel all doubts, misinformation, and queries with regards to this matter.

As of now, total tally of state’s COVID-19 positive stands at 38,407 with 29,080 discharged and 9,230 still active.
A total of 2,112 new COVID-19 positive cases were detected in Assam on July 30 out of which 283 were from Kamrup (Metro), 211 from Nagaon, 210 from Kamrup (Rural) and 132 from Sonitpur.
The death toll stands at 94 which includes the two that were lost on Thursday.
