To accommodate the increasing demand of passengers during the festive season, N.F. Railway has introduced additional special trains to provide comfortable travel options. These services aim to address the high volume of passengers travelling for various festivities. The recently scheduled festive trains include long-distance and short-haul journeys designed to improve connectivity across multiple regions.
One of the special services, Train No. 05629 (Agartala – Secunderabad), will depart from Agartala at 06:20 hours on 3 November 2024 and arrive in Secunderabad at 16:15 hours on the third day, offering a seamless route for passengers travelling between the Northeast and Telangana. Another one-way special, Train No. 04619 (Agartala – Firozpur Cantt.), will leave Agartala at 14:10 hours on 3 November 2024, reaching Firozpur Cantt. at 21:40 hours on the third day, facilitating long-distance connectivity.
For passengers travelling between Punjab and West Bengal, Train No. 04696 (Ludhiana – New Jalpaiguri) will depart Ludhiana at 22:15 hours on 2 November 2024, reaching New Jalpaiguri by 05:10 hours on the third day. In the reverse direction, Train No. 04695 (New Jalpaiguri – Ludhiana) will depart from New Jalpaiguri at 10:00 hours on 4 November 2024, arriving in Ludhiana by 16:55 hours the following day.
Additionally, Train No. 01081 (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus – Agartala) will embark on its festive journey from Mumbai at 15:30 hours on 3 November 2024 and is set to reach Agartala by 07:40 hours on 6 November 2024. For the return, Train No. 01082 (Agartala – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus) will leave Agartala at 15:10 hours on 7 November 2024, concluding its trip back in Mumbai at 08:20 hours on 10 November 2024.

In addition to these long-distance services, N.F. Railway is also running two DEMU special trains between Katihar and Manihari, tailored for Chhath Puja devotees heading to the Ganga for holy baths. The first DEMU service will depart from Katihar each day at 21:15 hours from 2 to 5 November 2024, arriving in Manihari at 22:00 hours. In the return direction, it will depart Manihari at 23:45 hours, reaching Katihar by 00:30 hours. The second DEMU special will operate from 3 to 6 November 2024, with departures from Katihar at 01:30 hours, reaching Manihari by 02:15 hours. On its return, it will leave Manihari at 04:00 hours, arriving back in Katihar at 04:45 hours.
