Kohima: Aizawl FC and Nagaland United Sports Club (NUSC) will face off in a special exhibition football match under the theme “Peace Pays” at the Chumoukedima Football Stadium on June 6.
The match, scheduled to kick off at 7 pm, aims to promote unity, compassion and regional solidarity through sport while raising funds for underprivileged children.
Organised as part of the broader Football for Peace initiative, the exhibition match will feature players from Aizawl FC alongside some of Nagaland’s top football talents representing NUSC.
According to the Nagaland Olympic Association, the initiative seeks to go beyond football by using the sport as a platform to foster harmony and strengthen ties among communities across the Northeast. With tickets priced at just Rs 20, the event has been made accessible to encourage wider public participation and support for the cause.
Proceeds from the match will be used to support an orphanage, making the event both a sporting spectacle and a charitable endeavour.
The fixture carries the tagline “Two Clubs. One Cause.”, stressing the shared commitment of both teams to social responsibility and community welfare.
As part of the wider Football for Peace programme, Aizawl FC will also play an exhibition match against Mon XI at Pangting Astro Turf in Mon district on June 2. The match is scheduled to begin at 2 pm and is expected to offer football enthusiasts in the district a unique opportunity to witness competitive action while supporting a meaningful cause.
Organisers have urged football fans and members of the public to attend the matches and contribute to the initiative.
