Kohima: In the wake of the devastating news of two Nagaland Police personnel succumbing to heatstroke while on poll duty in Bihar, another personal has tragically fallen victim to the extreme weather conditions.

The latest casualty has been identified as Constable Wetelhou Chakhesang, hailing from Leshimi Village and serving in the 10th IR battalion.

This is the third loss of a Nagaland Police personnel due to heatstroke during the 18th Lok Sabha election duty in Bihar.

Nagaland deputy chief minister and minister in charge of home, Yanthungo Patton took to X, formerly Twitter, to express his sorrow.

“The news of the passing of one of our brave hearts of the 10th NAP (IR), Wetelhou Chakhesang, due to heat stroke during election duty in Bihar is deeply saddening. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones at this time of grief. His commitment and service to the nation will always be remembered and honored. May his soul rest in eternal peace!” Patton wrote.
