Developers from across India are gathering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati for Hackyard Build 2026, a 24-hour hackathon aimed at turning ideas into working artificial intelligence (AI) products.
Organised by Assam-based technology company Hackyard Technologies Private Limited, the event is being held on October 24 and 25. Participants will work continuously over 24 hours to develop products, with a cash prize pool of up to Rs 4,47,500 and additional partner challenges on offer.
The event aims to connect developers from the Northeast with a wider technology ecosystem, including startup founders and industry mentors. Founder judges from Y Combinator-backed startups will assess the final round live from San Francisco.
“We want to strengthen the Northeast’s technology ecosystem and give its young people more opportunities to build, learn and start companies,” said Shyamol Konwar, co-founder and CEO of Hackyard.
“Through Hackyard, we are working to connect local talent with founders, tools and a wider technology community, so that world-class products can be built from the Northeast,” he added.
Three Y Combinator F26 companies, ByteAsk, Agent37 and Nodus Compute, are sponsoring the event. Founders from Y Combinator-backed startups, including Maritime, Clean and Nodus Compute, are also scheduled to lead sessions over the two days, sharing their experiences of building companies.
Beyond the in-person hackathon, Hackyard is running online challenges with partners, including an Agent37 challenge and a ByteAsk open-source challenge, allowing developers elsewhere to participate.
