Kohima: Following the visit of the Angami Public Organisation (APO) and the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) at the disputed Kezoltsa /Kozirü/Kozin along the Nagaland-Manipur border, the apex body of the Angami Naga tribe withdrew its ultimatum served to the Mao Council.

Through a release, the tribal body said that as per its ground assessment and latest findings, it was found that the Southern Angami Public Organisation (SAPO) rest-house that was demolished has been rebuilt by the Tenyimi Peoples’ Organization (TPO) and stands unchanged as before.

The Manipur Police Outpost which was set up in the disputed area has also been relocated to an undisputed area.

“The Angami Public Organisation (APO) welcome these transformative developments as timely and conducive for the parties involved to evolve together a solution that will be honourable, therefore workable and acceptable,” it said.

Taking note of the developments, the APO said that the TPO has been mandated to bring about the needed solution.

It therefore directed all bodies/Organisations or Individuals under APO to cease issuing any statements or rejoinders on the issue under discussion, stating that a responsible moratorium is now called for.

The APO sought understanding and cooperation for a crucially needed trust-building process and for an actual search for the much-awaited solution.

Reposing its trust on TPO in resolving the dispute, the APO withdrew its Ultimatum and requested the TPO to expedite the settlement process in a way that is acceptable and agreeable to all involved parties.
