Mizoram: Congress LS candidate join politics to combat BJP rule

Aizawl: Mizoram Congress MP candidate Lalbiakzama delivered a fervent address at a campaign rally held in Chawngte (C) and Tlabung, articulating his resolute stance against the BJP-led government and outlining his motivations for entering politics.

Speaking passionately to the gathered crowds, Lalbiakzama revealed that his decision to step into the political arena was fueled by his deep-seated conviction to combat the rule of the BJP.

Despite initially rebuffing numerous invitations from various political parties upon his retirement, Lalbiakzama emphasised that the prevailing governance under the BJP compelled him to take action.

“I realized that if I don’t fight against the BJP rule now, the future generations are going to condemn me,” Lalbiakzama asserted, underscoring his commitment to challenging what he perceives as detrimental policies and practices of the ruling party.

In a scathing critique of the BJP’s ideology, Lalbiakzama referenced Vir Savarkar’s 1923 publication on the Essentials of Hindutva, which he alleged serves as a foundational text for the RSS.

He condemned what he described as the BJP’s discriminatory treatment towards marginalised religions and tribes, accusing them of orchestrating a campaign to eradicate diversity and impose homogeneity.

Moreover, Lalbiakzama accused the BJP of employing cunning tactics rather than overt ruthlessness, urging Mizo Christians to remain vigilant against the party’s strategies. Citing examples such as the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the proposed Uniform Civil Code, Lalbiakzama cautioned against what he perceived as the BJP’s agenda to homogenise India and marginalize minority communities.

Highlighting the alleged role of the BJP in exacerbating ethnic tensions, Lalbiakzama promised a swift resolution to issues faced in Manipur under a Congress-led government, asserting that the INDIA Bloc would prioritize the plight of marginalised communities.

He concluded by condemning the BJP’s purported efforts to establish a singular religious identity for India, citing instances of atrocities against Christians and vowing to resist such divisive agendas.
