Mizoram: Assam Rifles seizes 1,000 detonators, ammunition; 2 held 

Aizawl: The Assam Rifles seized a cache of explosive materials, including 1000 pieces of detonators and gelatin gel, near the Sairang Sihhmui junction in Aizawl, Mizoram.

A written complaint was filed in this regard at the Sairang Police Station by Madan Lepcha of the 2nd Assam Rifles.

According to the complaint, the Assam Rifles recovered four boxes of electronic detonators, totaling 1000 pieces, along with twenty-eight boxes of gelatin gel, comprising 252 gels. The illegal possession of these explosive materials was attributed to Lalrokima (35) and H. Lalmalsawma (35), residents of Mission Veng and Phunchawng Kawn, respectively, in Aizawl.

The authorities detained three vehicles suspected to be involved in the transportation of these materials.

The vehicles, identified as a Tata Nexon bearing registration number MZ01 AA-2476, a Mahindra Bolero Pick-up with registration number MZ01 V-7363, and a Yamaha Scooty registered under MZ01 W-3709, were apprehended as part of the operation.

Following the seizure, a case was registered at the Sairang Police Station, leading to the arrest of Lalrokima and H. Lalmalsawma.

The two accused individuals were taken into custody for further investigation into their alleged involvement in the possession and transportation of explosive materials.
