Shillong: Following nationwide protests in Bangladesh and reported clashes between students and government forces, a total of 202 Indians, including 67 from Meghalaya, have returned home, entering through Dawki.
Officials informed that the Government of Meghalaya is in constant touch with the Bangladesh High Commission and the Indian High Commission, Land Port Authority, Dawki, and Exporters Association, taking all possible measures for the safety of these students.
According to the arrival report from Dawki PCP, out of the 202 Indians, 198 are students, with 67 from Meghalaya and 131 from other states. The remaining four are tourists. Additionally, 101 students from Nepal and seven from Bhutan also returned through Dawki.
