Imphal: Girish and the Chronicles, the acclaimed heavy rock band from Sikkim, arrived in Imphal, Manipur, on Saturday morning ahead of their performance at the Sangai Music Festival 2025 on November 30.
Members of the 7 Sisters Foundation, one of the festival’s organisers, welcomed the band at Imphal airport.
The group has seen a surge in international attention following their high-octane appearance on Season 20 of America’s Got Talent, where they received praise from audiences and judges for their energetic stage presence and classic rock sound.
Dear Reader,
Every day, our team at EastMojo travels through rain, rough roads, and remote hills to bring you stories that matter – stories from your town, your people, your Northeast.
We do this because we believe in truthful, independent journalism. No big corporate backing, no government pressure – just honest reporting by local journalists who live and breathe the same air you do.
But to keep doing this work, we need you. Your small contribution helps us pay our reporters fairly, reach places others ignore, and keep asking the tough questions.
If you believe the Northeast deserves its own fearless voice, stand with us.
Support independent journalism. Be a Member.
Thank you,

Known for their signature blend of ’80s-style hard rock and heavy metal, the band also opened for Guns N’ Roses during the legendary group’s Mumbai concert in May 2025.
Girish and the Chronicles are expected to be one of the standout acts at this year’s Sangai Music Festival.
