Manipur: Arms, explosives recovered in Bishnupur

Guwahati: Security forces in Manipur recovered a substantial cache of illicit weapons in the Langza area of Churachandpur District.

Extensive search operations and area domination exercises were conducted in the fringe and vulnerable regions of both the hill and the valley districts.

A recent operation led to the recovery of one lathode gun, three single barrel 12 mm bore rifles, one 9mm CMG (with magazine), one Tear Gas Gun, 14 live ammunition rounds, two 38mm Anti-riot Cartridges with rubber bullets.

The seizure also included three Tear Smoke shells (CS), two improvised Long-range Mortars, and one improvised Long-range Mortar Ammunition.

Authorities have reiterated their dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of the populace and have urged residents to cooperate with security forces in preventing further illegal activities.

Investigations are currently underway to trace the origin and intended use of the seized weapons.
