Imphal: Manipur has recorded 729 positive cases of COVID-19, and 14 more persons succumbed to the virus on Wednesday. The total confirmed cases of coronavirus stand at 52,278.
With the new positive cases, the total number of active cases is 9,035, of which 9,000 are from the general population, and 35 are personnel of the Central Armed Police Force. Moreover, a total of 622 persons recovered and were discharged in the last 24 hours, and the recovery rate is 81.11%.
So far, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 complications has also increased to 839. The latest victims are reported from Imphal West (5), Imphal East (2), Churachandpur (2), Kakching (2), Bishnupur (1), Tamenglong (1) and Ukhrul (1).
The new positive cases include 311 from Imphal West, 108 from Imphal East, 93 from Churachandpur, 79 from Thoubal, 52 from Bishnupur, 26 from Kakching, 20 from Tamenglong, 10 from Senapati, eight from Jiribam, seven each from Noney and Ukhrul, four each from Chandel and Kangpokpi districts.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, as per the latest health bulletin.
