Guwahati is preparing to host Post Malone’s debut performance in the Northeast, as senior representatives from the Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC), Government of Assam, Guwahati Police, civic authorities and BookMyShow Live came together to present the city’s arrangements ahead of the concert on 8 December at Khanapara Veterinary Ground. The solo headline show, marking the artist’s first appearance in the region, is being produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live and Live Nation in collaboration with the Government of Assam.
The event marks the first major milestone following the memorandum of understanding signed between BookMyShow and Assam Tourism. Officials said the partnership is expected to create further opportunities for national and international performers in the region.

Authorities and organisers have drawn up a multi-agency plan covering crowd control, traffic management, emergency response and attendee services for what is expected to be one of the largest live events held in the Northeast. Officials said the coordination between public departments and private partners aims to ensure smooth operations throughout the event.
For the concert, 15 designated parking areas have been arranged, supported by the deployment of 1,300 police personnel across law and order and traffic duties. Guwahati Government Fire Services will provide one rescue van, two fire engines and a 30-member fire marshal team. The Public Health Department will reinforce medical preparedness through additional resources in first-aid rooms. A unified Venue Operations Centre will oversee real-time coordination across agencies, supported by more than 100 CCTV cameras.
Safety planning has been conducted with Momentum India, which has experience in high-density crowd management and international touring operations. Health City Hospital has collaborated on a detailed medical plan, including ambulances, an ICU setup, first-aid rooms, a Mother Tent and on-site medical camps.
Production for the tour, led by BookMyShow Live, includes over 300 intelligent lighting units, audio systems designed for uniform coverage, LED and special-effects support, pyrotechnics and flame effects operated under safety compliance. The venue will feature an extended thrust runway and a stage placed close to the General Admission area to support artist–audience interaction.
Organisers have also incorporated sustainability measures, including plastic-free operations, waste segregation and upcycling initiatives, hydration centres and the reuse of rice husk cups. Excess food is scheduled to be donated through local partners. The venue will have a Welfare Station staffed with trained professionals, alongside services such as a helpdesk, child-tagging counters, a lost-and-found desk and water distribution points near the barricade and stage.
As Guwahati prepares for the event, authorities see the concert as a significant moment for the region’s live entertainment sector, noting that the collaboration reflects growing confidence in hosting large-scale global events.
