Assam's Niraj Chandra Singha commissioned as IAF officer

Guwahati: Flying Officer K Niraj Chandra Singha from Assam has fulfilled his childhood dream of serving the nation after being commissioned into the Indian Air Force (IAF) in the Meteorology Branch.

He was commissioned during the Combined Graduation Parade held at the Air Force Academy in Dundigal on Saturday.

An alumnus of Sainik School Goalpara, Singha’s journey from a classroom in Assam to the ranks of the Indian Air Force reflects years of determination, discipline and perseverance.

According to a statement issued by PRO Defence, Guwahati, Singha nurtured the aspiration of joining the Armed Forces from a young age. He credits Sainik School Goalpara for shaping his character and instilling in him the values of discipline, resilience, leadership and patriotism.

Inspired by senior cadets and alumni who went on to serve the nation, he remained focused on his goal and worked consistently towards achieving it.

To strengthen his professional capabilities, Singha pursued a B.Tech degree while also mentoring young aspirants who shared similar ambitions of serving the country.

Despite facing challenges and periods of uncertainty, he continued his pursuit with determination and eventually secured recommendation for the Indian Air Force’s Meteorology Branch.

Speaking about his achievement, Singha attributed his success to the unwavering support of his parents, the guidance he received at Sainik School Goalpara and his faith in the Almighty.

His achievement is expected to inspire many young aspirants across the Northeast who dream of joining the Armed Forces.

PRO Defence, Guwahati, said Singha’s journey exemplifies how perseverance, discipline and hard work can help transform aspirations into reality.
