The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has scheduled a five-hour mega block from 1 to 8 December 2024 to carry out essential track maintenance work in the Lumding–Badarpur Hill section. The block will focus on the stretch between Dihakho and Mupa stations under the Lumding Division. To facilitate this maintenance, several train services will be affected, including cancellations, rescheduling, and en-route regulations.
Several trains will remain cancelled during this period. These include the Guwahati–Badarpur–Guwahati Express (15888/15887) on 4 and 7 December 2024, the Guwahati–Silchar–Guwahati Express (15615/15616) from 1 to 8 December 2024, and the Guwahati–Dullabcherra Express (15617) on 2, 4, and 7 December 2024. The corresponding return service, Dullabcherra–Guwahati Express (15618), will not operate on 3, 5, and 8 December 2024. Additionally, the Guwahati–New Jalpaiguri Special (05698) will be cancelled on 3 and 5 December 2024, while the New Jalpaiguri–Guwahati Special (05697) will not run on 4 and 7 December 2024. Other affected trains include the Silchar–Kolkata Special (05639) on 5 December 2024 and the Kolkata–Silchar Special (05640) on 6 December 2024.
In response to the block, some trains have been rescheduled to accommodate the necessary track work. The Agartala–SMVT Bengaluru Express (12504) will depart at 07:00 hours instead of 05:30 hours on 3 and 7 December 2024. Similarly, the Coimbatore–Silchar Express (12515) will start its journey at 03:00 hours on 2 and 9 December 2024, instead of 22:00 hours on 1 and 8 December 2024.

Several trains will also experience regulation during their journeys. The Thiruvananthapuram Central–Silchar Express (12507) will be regulated en route on 3 December 2024, the New Delhi–Silchar Express (14038) on 5 December 2024, and the Firozpur Cantt–Agartala Express (14620) on 2 December 2024.
Passengers are advised to stay updated on train schedules during this period and adjust their travel plans accordingly.
