Kokrajhar: The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) organized a protest dharna at Bodofa Children Park in Kokrajhar to demand justice for the brutal murder of Hiranmoy Khakhlary and the horrific gang rape incident in Dudhnoi.
The protest saw a significant turnout, reflecting widespread outrage and a strong demand for justice.
The ABSU has called for the highest punishment for the accused: Dhan Ali Talukdar, Bahar Ali, Rahman Ali, Shekbar Ali, and Permina Begum. They are demanding that the accused be sentenced to death. ABSU emphasized the need for swift justice through a Fast Track Court to ensure that the victims’ families receive the justice they deserve.
In addition to demanding strict punishment, the ABSU is also calling for financial compensation for the victims’ families.
They are demanding Rs 20 lakh for the family of the late Hiranmoy Khakhlary and Rs 5 lakh for each of the rape victims.
The protest highlighted the urgent need to address violence and ensure safety and justice for all. The ABSU’s demonstration at Bodofa Children Park is a powerful reminder of the community’s resilience and commitment to justice.
