The state government has planned to develop a new route for travel between the Barak Valley and Guwahati by 2026. The development will significantly improve connectivity and reduce the travel time of the people living in the region.
The state Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma assured that if he continues to stay as the Chief Minister with the blessings of the people, by 2026, one will be able to travel to Guwahati from Haflong. He said that this is a guarantee from the Modi government.
Earlier, the state government had inaugurated a new cancer centre in Cachar district for Rs 295 crore under the Assam Cancer Care Foundation.
