Kangpokpi: Fresh tensions have been reported in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district following the arrest of six alleged militants by the Central Reserve Police Force’s (CRPF) CoBRA unit near Chawangkining village on Saturday evening.
According to sources, following the arrests, a large number of men and women from Kangpokpi town mobilised and attempted to move towards Chawangkining village amid renewed tensions in the area.
The situation remained tense, with heavy security personnel deployed at the spot to prevent any escalation.
The six arrested individuals were reportedly taken to Imphal for further interrogation.
