Four Manipur Civil Service officers appointed to IAS

Imphal: Four Manipur Civil Service (MCS) officers have been appointed to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) against vacancies for the Select List of 2024, according to a notification issued by the Government of India.

The appointments were made by the President under Rule 8(1) of the Indian Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954, read with Regulation 9(1) of the Indian Administrative Service (Probation) Rules, 1954.

The officers appointed to the IAS are A Romita Devi, additional secretary, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and SCERT; K Bono Singh, additional secretary, Works and School Education; Kh Lalmani Singh, secretary, Manipur Public Service Commission; and H Balkrisna Singh, additional secretary, Home, Relief and Disaster Management, and project director, Loktak Development Authority.

According to the notification issued by the Union government’s Department of Personnel and Training on September 18, the appointments were made against vacancies determined by the Government of India under Regulation 5(1) of the IAS (Appointment by Selection) Regulations, 1997, in consultation with the Manipur government.
