Bomdila; West Kameng on Wednesday became the third district in Arunachal Pradesh to operationalise the single-window clearance system (SWCS) by issuing three new trade licenses through the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ (EoDB) portal of the state government.
EoDB, an index-based ranking system developed by the World Bank Group, was passed by the state cabinet in January 2017 to provide SWCS to investors or companies willing to open new small or medium-sized industries in state. Accordingly, the investment division under the department of planning and investment has on-boarded 61 services on the EoDB portal to date, of which 44 services are developed by the investment division and 17 independent services are linked to the EoDB portal.
Earlier, a team from the planning and investment department had conducted a weeklong hands-on training for the officials of the West Kameng administration to operationalize the SWCS in the district.
Single Window Clearance Authority chief executive officer Tabe Haidar appreciated West Kameng deputy commissioner Karma Leki, Bomdila additional deputy commissioner Sang Khandu, the district planning officer and the trade branch of the district administration for implementing the SWCS in their district.
Haidar also appreciated the efforts made by the EoDB technical team for successfully issuing the licenses online.
ADC Khandu, who handed over the new trade licenses to applicants on Wednesday, urged the district’s citizens to avail the services under EoDB to “ensure seamless and transparent delivery of services.”
Papum Pare and Namsai are the other two districts to implement the SWCS.
