3rd edition of Aguli Lantern Festival to light up Agartala

Agartala will witness the return of the Aguli Lantern Festival for its third edition, set to take place on 24 December 2024 at Pragati Ground. The festival promises an evening of cultural celebration and community engagement, featuring a dazzling display of lanterns, traditional performances, and various activities.

This annual event has become a significant cultural highlight in Tripura, drawing participants and visitors from across the state and neighbouring regions. It offers a platform for people of diverse backgrounds to come together and celebrate the rich heritage of the region.

The festival will showcase a range of activities, including the release of handcrafted lanterns that will light up the night sky, symbolising hope and unity. The programme will also feature live performances by artists such as Ananya Ghosh, Souvik Saha, Bandishgeetika, and Novonil Chakma, adding a musical dimension to the celebration.

Attendees can enjoy traditional food stalls and a vibrant cultural fair, further enhancing the festive atmosphere. The event has steadily gained popularity since its inception, becoming a cherished occasion for families and communities to gather.

Speaking about the festival, Chirantanu Debnath, Convener of the Aguli Lantern Festival, stated, “The Aguli Lantern Festival is more than just a visual spectacle; it is a celebration of togetherness, culture, and hope. We are thrilled to welcome everyone to join us in creating unforgettable memories and lighting up the skies with love and positivity.”

The festival is organised by Vivah Stories and Agartala Buzz, a venture of TOTELL, and receives support from various local businesses, including Astroanswer, Swarnakamal Jewellers, Loknath Enterprise, and Nanda Optics.
