The multi-platinum-selling rapper Travis Scott has been arrested in Miami on charges of disorderly conduct and trespassing after he got into a fight with a man on a yacht.
Scott was booked into the Miami County Jail and has since been released on bail.
According to a statement from his legal team, Bradford Cohen, the rapper was “briefly detained due to a misunderstanding. There was absolutely no physical altercation involved, and we thank the authorities for working with us towards a swift and amicable resolution.”
The incident took place on Thursday after Scott and the man got into an argument while on a yacht at Miami Beach. The unidentified man reportedly told police that Scott refused to leave the area after the fight broke out and that he smelled alcohol coming from him.
TMZ reports that law enforcement arrived at the marina and confronted Scott, who they say appeared to be arguing with someone on another yacht. The unnamed person who confronted Scott told the cops that he got into a fight with Scott, which made him “gonna catch a fade.”
Scott was arrested by police and taken to a vehicle waiting for him. As they were escorting him away from the area, the rapper began “yelling obscenities” at the people on the boat, according to a press release from TMZ.
Scott was booked into the Miami County Jail on charges of $150 for public intoxication charges and $500 for trespassing. He has since posted his bail and has already been released from jail.
