The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation will host the 2024 Make Music Day event on June 21. The event will celebrate music and bring out the musician in all of us, regardless of skill level.

The celebrations will kick off in Fairfield, Connecticut, with Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz striking a handmade gathering drum. The event will then spread to 24 countries with over 5,000 concerts and music events taking place. The performances will be a part of the global online relay, dubbed Pulsations.

The online relay will feature musicians in various countries playing a 10-minute set of their choosing. The event will reach its end in Paris with a seamless transition between musicians as one set ends and the next one picks up the heartbeat rhythm in a different country.

The pulsations project is a collective effort between the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation, the Arab World Institute, and the Institut du Monde Arabe. The project aims to promote camaraderie, peace, and mutual respect worldwide through music.

The 2024 Make Music Day event will feature performances by A.R. Rahman, TOI, Dwight Trible, and Twin Flames. The event will also feature a performance by the Fernando Pullum Youth Arts Center Jazz Ensemble in Los Angeles. The performances will be live on large public screens in several participating cities, including Paris, Toronto, and Hanover, Germany.

The Make Music Day event is a global festival that celebrates music and encourages all musicians to play music, regardless of their skill level. The event is also an opportunity to promote peace and unity through music.
