Awangbow Newmai, NPF Manipur president, thanked the BJP for their support.

Imphal: In a significant development, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government in Manipur has decided to extend its support to the Naga People’s Front (NPF) candidate in the Outer Manipur Lok Sabha constituency.

Taking to X, earlier known as Twitter, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh shared “Following the decision by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under the guidance of Shri. J.P.Nadda ji, and upholding our alliance principles, I am delighted to share that BJP will lend its support to Lok Sabha Candidates of NPF in the Outer Manipur Constituency for the upcoming Parliamentary elections in 2024.”

A similar development was also shared by Sambit Patra, a senior BJP leader and in-charge of the northeast.

Minister Awangbow Newmai, who is also the NPF Manipur unit president, expressed gratitude to the BJP central president JP Nadda, chief minister N Biren Singh under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah for extending support to NPF and NDA alliance.

NPF, an ally party in the N Biren Singh-led government has fielded K Timothy Zimik for the upcoming Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency, replacing the present incumbent MP Dr Lorho S Pfoze.

Born on January 14, 1962, Timothy Zimik, principal chief commissioner of income tax (retd.) had served 36 years of service by holding many important positions in the government sector.
