Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Tuesday announced a five percent hike in the Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief for the state government employees and pensioners. The revised pay structure for the employees would come into effect from January 01, 2024.
Dr Saha announced this on the last day of the budget session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly. This is the third time such a hike was announced after Dr Saha assumed the charge of the top office.
Highlighting the state government’s commitment to the welfare of the employees, Dr. Saha said the state government is indebted to providing financial security to the employees.
“With great pleasure, I announce a 5% DA for government employees and pensioners, reflecting our dedication to their welfare. In the face of adversity, our government has consistently prioritized the well-being of our workforce. This decision will result in an additional burden of Rs 500 crore on the state exchequer,” said Dr Saha.
A total of 1.06 lakh government employees and 82,000 pensioners would benefit from this announcement.
